Power lifting has evolved from strength training methods that the Greeks and Romans once practiced. The modern version that we know today began in the United States in the 1950s, when a number of body builders set records for various “odd lifts.” Today, power lifting is used to strengthen and train the muscles of the body to become stronger and more toned.
